Safe Place Appeal

HKWS in conjunction with Turramurra and Lindfield Community Bank ran the Safe Place Appeal for two weeks in June to raise the final sum to purchase a permanent home for the Shelter. The campaign was successful  with the  campaign raising over $195,000 due to massive community support. The team is currently working on a plan to make the Shelter Permanent Home a reality.

Leave a gift in your will

Leaving a gift in your will (also known as a ‘bequest’ or ‘legacy’) can make a real difference to support women in crisis.

The best way to arrange a bequest is to speak to your solicitor. They understand all the conditions and can ensure your estate is distributed in a way that meets your wishes.

You can find a solicitor through The Law Society of NSW.

We encourage you to let us know of your intentions so that we can give you proper thanks and honour your wishes.

Donate in memory of your loved one

Donating to HKWS in memory is a very special way to honour the life of your loved one and create a lasting legacy.

If you’re organising a funeral or memorial service, you may wish to collect donations as a tribute to your loved one, instead of sending flowers.

We understand it’s a stressful and emotional time. To help make things easier we can supply memorial envelopes directly to you, please get in touch.

Creating an online donation page or is another way of paying a special tribute to your loved one.

Workplace giving

Enabling employees to make one-off or regular donations to HKWS through a Workplace Giving program is an easy, low-cost and tax effective way of making a positive difference to the lives of vulnerable women.

Workplace Giving helps your employees strengthen their connection to the community and lets everyone know that your organisation cares.

The end of financial year is a perfect time to make a meaningful contribution.

If you would like to include HKWS in your Workplace Giving program, please get in touch. We can provide advice and support around promoting your program to employees.

Tax time

The end of financial year is a perfect time to make a meaningful contribution.

Choosing HKWS to make a charitable donation at the end of financial year is not only a meaningful way to help change the lives of vulnerable women, it’s good for your personal finances.

Donations can reduce your taxable income, meaning the more you give, the less tax you pay.

Donations of any amount above $2 made before June 30 are considered tax deductible and can raise the value of your tax return.

If you’re looking for some more information, you can find it via WCS or head to the ATO.

There is a big wish list of items that we need, so please get in touch to find out more.

We have very limited storage, so we can only accept particular items at certain times.

HKWS can provide brochures and donation boxes for your business to help raise awareness and funds for women in need.
