Fundraise
HKWS opened its doors in 2015. Since then we have witnessed our community go to extraordinary lengths to raise funds to support our Shelter and mission. We can only do this important work, thanks to the support of individuals who fundraise.
Ways to fundraise for HKWS:
Celebrate your birthday
Have you ever considered asking your friends and family to donate to a charity in lieu of gifts for your birthday? Maybe this year is the year!
Hosting a birthday fundraiser, be it an event or simply an online fundraising page, is a fabulous way to empower women who seek care at HKWS.
By making your birthday about others, you are having a powerful impact on the lives of these women who are escaping domestic abuse and homelessness. You are helping them to create a better future.
Please get in touch if you would like us to help you set up a birthday fundraising page.
Create your own fundraiser
We are always amazed at the range of things our supporters do to raise money for HKWS. We have had supporters create art, shave their heads, host gigs, run marathons and more - all to support women escaping domestic abuse and homelessness.
The sky's the limit when it comes to creating your own fundraiser. Get in touch to talk through your wild and wonderful ideas and we can help set a fundraising page up for you!
Raise funds in your workplace
Enabling employees to make one-off or regular donations to HKWS through a Workplace Giving program is an easy, low-cost and tax effective way of making a positive difference to the lives of women experiencing domestic abuse or homelessness. Workplace Giving helps your employees strengthen their connection to the community and lets everyone know that your organisation cares.
If you would like to include HKWS in your Workplace Giving program, please get in touch by emailing ua.gro.swkh@eciffo. We can provide advice and support around promoting your program to employees.
Another way to raise funds in your workplace is to host an event at work to support HKWS, for example a bake sale or a morning tea. You could also get a team of colleagues together to participate in an annual event, like the City2Surf.

Raise funds in your school
School fundraisers are an important way of raising awareness and educating young people about critical social issues to help reduce incidents of domestic violence and homelessness in our community.
Please get in touch if you would like to discuss plans for fundraising in your school.
Raise funds in memory of a loved one
Giving in memory of a loved one is a very special way to honour their life and create a meaningful lasting legacy.
We send our deepest condolences if you have lost a loved one and appreciate how stressful and emotional this time can be.
If you would like to donate to HKWS in memory of a loved one, you can make a donation via this form here. If you would like to create a tribute page, where friends and family can donate and share messages of love and support, we can help you do this also. Simply get in touch and we can set this up for you.
Corporate Partnerships
If you are a business looking to contribute to an important cause, please consider supporting HKWS and make a difference to the lives of women facing domestic abuse and homelessness.
Businesses partner with us in many ways, including by donating cash or products, giving a percentage of sales of certain items to HKWS and by offering pro bono support services.
